Last year I was asked by the lovely team at Pentillie Castle and Estate to come on board with their sustainable inspired styled shoot.
The focus for this shoot was sustainability.
As the world moves forward and weddings are thankfully back in full swing, it’s imperative that as an industry we all try our hardest to keep this at the forefront of our businesses and make some important changes.

Pentillie Castle & Estate are setting the standards when it comes to implementing good environmental and sustainability polices at their countryside venue. They actually won Gold at the Cornwall Tourism Awards for their sustainability. Well done team Pentillie!
What can you do to make your wedding day more earth friendly?
I’m glad you asked! If every couple approached their big day with this question in hand, the positive impact would be phenomenal.
Here’s just a few ideas on how you could make some wise choices.

Ask Your Suppliers
You really have to ask yourself some important questions when making decisions for your special day. Like quality over quantity, ethics and responsibility over a bargain deal….
Does your chosen catering company source their products locally, organically and fairly?

When choosing your bridal outfits, what about a preloved dress or a hired suit?

Does your stationery designer use recycled cardstock, non toxic inks, or plant a tree to offset their carbon footprint?

Work with a Florist who uses in season, home grown or locally sourced flowers.

DIY doesn’t have to be dirty or hard work. You can have so much fun with your bridal party making and decorating your venue with up-cycled and re-cycled items. Get creative!
